I'd be here all day, passed in 90 after failing twice in 88, first was a mini clubman estate 1976 but since then I totalled up the cars I had about 5 years ago and it was over 60, probably more like 80 now, sounds a lot but had my mini when i was 15 so 37 years just over 2 a year, I will make another list one day.
Well I don’t know about anyone else but I’d love to see the full list.
Oh damn now you've done it, ok give me a few days lol

They are NOT like the crap Heritage bumpers that are an awful fit, these fit well and come with the correct irons, see the build thread I did for my mates car.
They will also have other stuff you will need on there so best to make a bulk order to save on shipping and import handling.
Would using other bushes like powerflex et all make the job easier? Or are you wanting to keep original. Let us know how you get on as I want to do this job but will be dropping the beam and painting it as it's not too pretty anymore.
I was going to say the same thing as the poly bushes are in 2 parts and slot in rather than pressed through, would make the job easy with the beam on the car.
Helios blue and oak green were first introduced with the 1 in 10 million edition but after that they did continue as standard GTI colours. The interior, if still original will tell us for certain but looks highly likely.
The plastic trim/boot handle should be plain unpainted plastic. They weren’t body colour till big bumper.
Yeah agreed on Helios as mine was 89 non campaign, but on E reg I'd say it is a 1 in 10 as it would be 87/88 if it was F reg then it could be either I think, although they didn't continue Helios onto big bumper!
yeah it's got the g60 arches on it. I'm gathering up the bits to put it back to small bumper.. and yes it's original oak green. So you think definitely a one in 10 million edition?
To my knowledge I am sure they only did small bumper Oak Green in the one in ten million along with Helios Blue and Schwartz Black but I 'think' they also did F reg 16v small bumpers available later in Oak Green option which are not so I'd say as it's an original E reg in Oak green it's 99% a one in ten million.
Well being an E reg yes it should be small bumper and if it is originally Oak Green then it is a one in ten as they didn't do Oak Green in small bumper only in one in ten, it looks like it has G60 arches at front?
hi mate thanks for that link I see the front and rear bumpers there, do they have the wheel arches and trim though.. finding it hard to navigate the site and work out which ones I need..
Hi I think you should do a compression test with a warm engine. I read somewhere you should take the black lead off the coil as this saves any damage to the electrical system. Good readings are in the 180 region. scs
Yeah was going to say a healthy engine should be close to 180psi, those figures above look low but need to be done with a warm engine and WOT and as said king lead detached
I can promise you, you'll never see me at a show'n'shine.
Thank you for the comments, even though I feel awkward seeing them.
I don't post about my car elsewhere and it's this forum alone that's brought me to where I am with it.
Said before that since joining I've grown from peaking out at checking the oil to having just taken the engine apart and it's all because of you lot with your posts, advice and support.
So if you're a newbie, like I was not that long ago, don't be daunted by getting stuck in. It's all very, very doable and you'll not be stuck for help on here.
So glad to hear that, I stopped going to shows because the 'scene' was getting silly, I much prefer to see resto's than BBS shod dumped cars, car is looking epic though, credit to you, something I should have done with mine but life got in the way!!
Non PAS isn't that bad on the move, I actually went for Non PAS originally as I preferred a heavier drive but after having cars with PAS for many years and then going back to trying it with non it was very different but not overly heavy until you were going slow and parking it, bonus is less weight.
