Engine & Gearbox / Speedo Drive
Hi All

I have refitted my instrument panel and speedo drive cable, when i turn the red nylon gear at the gearbox end the needle moves, there is no obvious damage to the drive and it feels like its fitting into the box OK but is there a trick to locating it, i cant see where it sits because of the gearbox oil, the speedo is not working BTW. Mk2 Golf Chat / Re: MK2 edub for the price of a Tesla
Im going to visit these guys as they are not that far form me, i don't think they will have many takers till its closer to £10k but as someone has already stated i will keep my ICE at this stage, maybe in the future if i had a car with no engine. I think looking to convert newer cars that have very week engines like some Discovery's or Insignia would be a better business model.

Engine & Gearbox / Re: WUR Vac connections 1991 16V KR
I think I have solved the mystery, i broke the cold start injector manifold so i ordered one on eBay, it looks like the one that came is wrong for the car as it has a superfluous vacuum outlet underneath, what fooled me is that it lined up perfectly with the vacuum connection on the WUR that faces forward. I also found a picture of my engine when i got it and it clearly shows the connection from the elbow on the vacuum hose on the ISV being connected to the front vacuum connection on the WUR, the side one indeed being just a breather which should have a vent cap fitted. Thanks all.

Engine & Gearbox / WUR Vac connections 1991 16V KR
Hi all, i have two vacuum connections on my WUR, one that faces to the side (toward the battery) which i have connected to the T piece connection on the elbow that runs form the ISV to the metering head rubber, and one that faces forward which I have connected to the solid pipe under the cold start injector, dose this sound correct please? Phil

Engine & Gearbox / Re: Power Steering Belt Alignment
It looks like my car came with the wrong pulley...  the early 16v has the same pulley as the 8v, it changed on chassis # break F1G-MW240 001/MB075 001. the early KR pulley is 027 145 255, later one is 051 145 255 which is dished, i have ordered one and ill report if it solves the problem. Thanks for the advice all.
