Looks like it might be a system called 'Quick Out' that converted an existing fixed installation Blaupunkt radio into a pull out type. There seems to be other bits to it, like a handle and that seperate wired in box you can see in the Facebook images that you're missing - The part number of that box is what identified the maker.
If you Google 'Blaupunkt Quick Out' you'll see there's slightly different versions / connectors on some of them so probably not completely universal.
Also seems to be aimed at the higher end units of the time and unfortunately they seem to fetch serious money these days.

think i saw some of those wheels on ebay/facebook market place 4 with caps.. in chesterfield. The bumpers will clean up nicely with usual treatments i reckon, heat,linseed oil.

Cheers for the link! It's OK needs a bit of tidying up but I'm getting there with it! Here are some pictures of when I first got it, plan is to keep it totally stock apart from some putting on some 'baby g60' wheels which I picked up at the weekend. Needs a bad weld grinding off and redoing on the sill but otherwise its really solid.
@vw-widow Shelly I hadn't really thought about starting a build thread but maybe that'd be cool! It's only tidying up rust patches etc (I hope!), would kinda stuff be enough to justify a thread??

I'm lightly restoring a 1986 1.3 CL which has a pull out radio fitted, however the radio is long gone. Before tampering with the wiring I'd like to try and find a replacement radio that fits the cage, but I don't really know where to start trying to identify what radio goes in there!
I know it's a bit of a long shot but I thought it may be worth asking on here, any help would be greatly appreciated. Photos of the cage are further down the thread now I know how to post photos!
I ordered them from Classic VW as per Ken's post. £20 ea plus £6.40 postage. I nearly bought one as a test but the postage cost swayed me to buy two! Hopefully they will do the biz. I'll post an update when I've fitted them.
I did a how to...on the front of 3dr.. somewhere on here.. i always try fit new as the very reason you change the old ones is shrinkage and someone elses old one will be similar. Maybe slight improvement but effort to change may aswell get a new set and get another 20yrs out of them

A how to would be great, I'll try and find it. I changed the seals on a Mk1 I had years ago but I can't really remember how I did it, I do remember that it didn't go brilliantly haha
I've just ordered myself to a pair for the rear on my moredoor. Ive bought 2x fronts so I can cut them down. The rubber round the rear quarterlight seems to shrink on the base corner leaving an annoying gap. Hence Ive used cut-down secondhand front rubber seals before. However the old seals are leaving a sizeable gap between the glass letting too much water in the door. Hopefully new ones will sort it!

@sly_gti cheers for your message. I need the rear doors more but if you had a full set of seals I'd be interested in taking the lot. Also need the seals that go in the window channels.
I need a few other little interior bits and pieces as well, and front and rear small bumpers with chrome strips should you any lying around!
Recently bought a silver, 1986 1.3 CL 5dr that has been standing for a good while and needs new window rubbers, especially on the back windows. Also needs the J shaped metal strips that run along between door and window. Would also consider complete doors, especially if they were silver!
Picked up my first MK2 Golf yesterday, a 5dr 86 1.3 CL. 1 owner, 28K miles though has been standing for a few years. Runs and drives and is motd, but needs a bit of tlc. In the past I had a MK1 Golf Cab for years and more recently I had a MK2 Polo Saloon.
Hoping to get this car sorted over the next couple of months, just hope there are some shows happening this year! I'll post in parts wanted as well, but if anyone has some spare rubber window surrounds, scrapers and the metal strips that run along where the door meets the window (basically all the bits that brave the elements) please pm me, my car is anything but watertight at the moment!
