B Reg MK2 Golf GTI Intank Fuel Pump

Hi all,

I recently got my MKII Golf GTI 8v out of my dads barn which was sitting for over 20 years, We just recently cleaned it all out washed it etc, took the in-tank fuel pump out and have found its all corroded away such as all the cables and connectors. I'm looking for a replacement of the whole unit and cant find a original one anywhere for the mk2. I saw on Ebay a Jetta Mk2 8v full fuel pump sender unit for sale and I'm just wondering if it would fit and work the same as the original?.

As far as I'm aware the only thing to look out for is the number of pins on the plug. Early have 3, later has 4 I think.
I belive change over is inline with the swap from CE1 to CE2 (CE=Central Electrics or the German equivalent at least) wiring loom which was late 1989. Therefore the majority will be CE1 so should be no issues.
