Vw Golf

Hi looking for a wash wipe stalk with MFA switch for a 1988 Golf gti please, thanks

Hi - 88 and 89 are switch over years. You MAY have the newer version  (but still CE1) or you may have the older version. It's worth getting the part number off yours if possible. If it's the 88/89 version on CE1 needed they're VERY difficult to source (I have this one too and had this issue) but you can fit the more common older one - but it'll not match your stalks. CE2 (hazard switch on steering column and not on dash) then non-genuine ones are much more common and easier to source. Sadly these more common ones will NOT work on a CE1 car easily.

Hi thanks for reply. Sadly my car is a 1988 model with the white plug at the end of the MFA wires and like the proverbial rocking horse doo doo! Anyone have such a stalk available please?

No knowledge of your earlier cars setup and working purely on your description... because of that this is likely not what you're after, but may act as a starting point.

The seller below has been on eBay for years and seems to always have quite a stock of harder to find bits, though they also know how to charge accordingly for them. Having said that, there's been a noticible softening of prices in the last while.

Haven't used them personally and no connection either.

From recollection they previously did post internationally pre-brexit, though it's now marked as ask them for a postage cost first.

If it's not what you're after or they wont post keep trying eBay.de or it's sister site ebay-kleinanzeigen. It's buy and sell in the style of Gumtree, so has the associated risks. Have used it quite a few times over the years with absolutely no issues, but make your own mind up.

Using 'Lenkstockschalter golf2', seems to get a few hits, though they've likely other names to.

This is just a random one that's up at the moment and caught my eye, a Google translate of the description mentions it's for pre-1987 cars.

Maybe different years apply to continental cars, would also be worth double checking LHD / RHD does or doesn't matter.

Part number would help greatly... that eBay link has 191 953 503M buried in the item specifics - is that correct to the part you're after?

One on Kleinanzeigen last month, since gone, but shows they do turn up.

Get yourself registered on that site in readiness for the next one so as to be able to at least contact the seller pronto.
