Wiper motor March 20, 2022, 07:24:53 PM Hi everyone Does anyone know whether a pre-87 car would require a different front wiper motor from a post-87?(Mine is an early Gti where the wipers go the ‘wrong’ was across the screen like in a LHD car, unsure which part number I should be looking for!)Thanks in advance Will

Re: Wiper motor Reply #2 – March 21, 2022, 09:13:34 AM Good question, I always assumed it was the same motor just flipped over as opposed to it turning in the opposite direction. ??A quick check on 7zap and the part number for both early and late is 251 955 119 - this look up give alternative part numbers from various manufacturers.https://7zap.com/en/part/VAG/251955119/I believe the motor itself was used up to early Mk4 Golf, although the housing is different but you can remove the motor from the housing and use it. Febi, Valeo, Bosch, Meyle - all good OE brands.Topran also come up a lot on UK sites, and seem to be a decent aftermarket supplier. 1 Likes
