Early front engine mount. May 31, 2023, 05:51:05 PM Is the early Gti 8v 1984-1985 front engine mount the same as a mk1 golf?Am having trouble ordering the correct one as the one on my car isn't listed.Thanks.

Reply #4 – June 02, 2023, 05:21:24 PM Hi, afraid to say they are different mounts, although both front, central of engine they have different brace brackets and bushes, seem to recall the bush on the mk1 was held in place by tension between the male and female bracket whilst the 84 mk2’s were held in place by an inner bush plus mounting bracket which bolted into a retaining bracket, so more of a complicated design.Hope helps 1 Likes

Trying to find a early front central mount will be a challenge I really would like to keep it original and not go hydro mount.
