Grab Handles - 3 Door

Does anyone know if the 3 door mk2 Golf had a grab handle by the drivers door?

No it didn't. Just two blanks plugging the holes.
The reason for the holes, is obviously to cater for LHD and RHD cars, the shell and roof lining etc were not sided. So one size fits all.

This is common on many cars. The drivers seat would not have a grab handle.

Reasons could be, not needed you have a steering wheel to hold onto, whereas the passengers don't. Also, in the event of an accident you could bang your head against it.... but then that would be true for the passangers.

Brilliant - thanks Eddypeck. One less thing to focus on.

I am also trying to work out the Options that are on the boot barcode label - but can't seem to find a list (or I can, but none of my codes appear). For example I have codes that look like:

EQD,
UNS (or UN3)
H30 (or HBO or HBG)
560 (or 530)
565
776
791
930

Would you know where to direct me?

I have some

EQD = so far unknown
UNS (or UN3)  = so far unknown
H30 (or HBO or HBG) = the H codes tend to be wheels and tyres.
560 (or 530) = so far unknown
565 = Sport steering wheel
776 = Without trim strip
791  = so far unknown
930 = Inside adjustable exterior mirrors

Using a look up, I've found:

H30 = Tires 255/45 R19 104Y x1 for run flat system with reinforced sidewall
HB0 = All-weather tires 255/40 R19 96H (NAR)
HBO = All-weather tires 255/40 R19 96H (NAR)
HBG = code not found :-(

Obviously these are clearly incorrect so the codes have been repurposed for todays cars.

What it does confirm is H code are tyres. What model is your golf? if we know that perhaps we can work out what wheels and tyres it would have had from the original sales brochures and fill in the blanks.

This is why I started the list to save them as a point in time. There's no way to know if the list I have is correct but it's better than nothing at all. And I've compiled it from various sources and snippets found online.
