Exhaust Manifold

Evening all,

I looking for some advise on my options for a replacement exhaust manifold as mine has a fairly large crack in it in the most inaccessible place so not sure it can be repaired!

I have an ABF conversion which is using manifold part number 027253033AD, I've messaged Matt @ MK2 Spares to see if he has a good direct replacement in stock so waiting on an answer back on that one and I've also looked on the tinterweb but this manifold doesn't seem to be that easily available so my question is what are my other options?

I ideally want to replace like for like as I'm not looking for any performance improvements and that way I know it will fit, has anyone out there had a similar issue, if so what was your solution?

Also on this subject,

Does anyone know the significance of the 2 letters at the end of the part number as I have seen various manifolds on the internet with the same main part number (027253033) but different letters at the end AB/AT/BC etc etc?

Hi,

I'm not sure about the stock manifolds, but if you get really stuck, you can fit any 16v manifold to an ABF with a little work.

As for the letters at the end of the part numbers, they're usually for variants of the part.
Usually start off with no letter, then go through the alphabet every time there is a revision.
Technically, it should fit as long as the main numbers match.

Thanks for the info Monkey, much appreciated.

Another member who lives not that far away has got in touch to say they have an AT numbered manifold so I'm going over on Friday to compare mine with that one, fingers crossed it's usable.

I'll let people know the outcome for future reference.
