Mk2 Golf Chat / Re: Sunroof
Where did you get the seal from? As above, there is adjustments. I remember it being a little tight when I did one previously but not to the extent you describe. I hope you manage to sort it ok.

Engine & Gearbox / Re: Gear linkage going out of alignment
Check it's a nyloc nut on the pinch bolt. It shouldn't come loose once set.

What is the condition of the rest of the bushes? It worn and there's movement when you set it, it could well be affecting the overall alignment.

A kit like this is what you need.

And even if done previously, new replacement parts only tend to last a few years not the 30+ years of the OE product

Mk2 Parts for Sale & Breaking / Re: connectors needed
FYI - sidelight bulb holders and their connectors are different between early and late-spec cars.

But if you work out what you need there are other VW and VAG group cars that will have the same making sourcing parts easier.
Some parts (or a modern iteration that fits) may still be available to buy new.

For example, the clips that hold the washer pipe to the bonnet were NLA for VW, but an almost identical part was still in production for SEAT Inca vans until fairly recently. Meaning you could still buy new from a dealer for a sensible price rather than scence tax on old parts

Hi, Welcome back.

How long ago do you say is a while back? I'm afraid I don't recognise your username or has that changed?
