Mk2 Golf Chat / Re: Polybush Top Mounts
Personally id use the oem rubber choice, used poly top mounts on my old 20v, literally changed them back to oem rubber the following weekend, they just put far to much extra vibration through the car.

Mk2 Golf Chat / GTI Register
I think it would be cool if there was a official owners club Gti Register/mk2 Register for original models (not had engine conversions / four wheel drive conversions / original colour)

So we can have a log of all known mk2s still on the road.

Info kept would have to be basic so like reg number, year, engine and code, colour etc. No more info than can be found on the internet via gov.com etc

Im happy to do this via excel spreadsheet that i can update and share wth with the club for all to see.

Thoughts?

Yes that would be the same car yes. It got to the point if i didn't drive it fast i didn't want to use it needed another few thousand to make it worthwhile eg rebuilt head with uprated valves and bigger turbo and manifold.

Left me with 272bhp and 345lbft but the K04 was hanging out its arse.

The S4 i replaced it with was faster over 1/4 mile with a crap map

Absolutely love my mk5 gti, got a 5dr red one, its a work car that i bought cheap and did a fair bit of work to.

Its such a nice car to drive and eats up the miles, bought it on 154k and its just about to clock 170k, only bought it in January this year  ;D

Its got some form of map so 230bhp area and has done 40+mpg

Mk2 Golf Chat / Re: Con Rods
Ah i see, i spose you on the line of use used or pay a few quid more and have new, on the plus side the new rods 'should' be balanced which would save you a few hours of balancing the standard rods, one of mine was a fair bit heavier than the others which is normal due to mixed batches when the engines where built

What spec is the engine ? Personally id stick with the OEM rods.

Maxspeed racing sounds cheap
