some people are putting model cars on the rear-window-shelf.

in the german lucky-model-maker-forum,
i found this picture of  a 1:18 norev-model of a golf function long with plans to adapt it:


has anyone made experiences with such models ?

after doing a search, i've found a main-brake-cylinder on ebay.

is your part attached to it and is it the right one ?

i do not know what they mean with abs,
if it is for the building they say it for the 83-92 models
but also a abs (antilock-braking) version
or is abs just a part of a name, here ?

edit: maybe rather this one or the cheaper one, if at all.

do the late ones have anti-lock-braking ?

edit: the 8v gti has a nice deep sound
and look of the engine still matches the family.

Although the lamp was only mandatory for trucks,
some used it as a security precaution, in the 80's.

As in an Etsy-Auction:


The flasher is on the front and the steady light on the side.
It is powered by 5 mono cells, which makes it rather heavy.

In the new times, a friend has put in LED's,
a Li-Ion-Cell and some electronics in between.

Since they do not take as long to light up,
one could shorten the flashing by bridging the middle resistor
of the 5 you see after opening the case, he figured.

all i have done is taking off the dashboard.

everything else i tell you out of my imagination.

without further information, i would not be able to tell you
if a t3 cluster would be compatible with a mk2 one.

if not somebody else in the forum or the internet,
there is volkswagen, maybe even their museum,
witch should be able to answer such questions.

you could however compare the conductor paths
and modules of the kit and see if it is electrically identical
with the foil assembly.
maybe you could ask the dealer, if you could send it back
if it does not match.

another thing to consider is the shape of the circuit boards of the kit
being adapted to the shape of a t3 cluster, which is different from a mk2 one.

i would grab the soldering iron and skip the expensive kit.

talking about the layout,
you could also etch, mill
or order the manufacturing of a circuitboard,
if you want to make it very nice.

could you post a link about such a t3 kit ?
i would be curious how they have solved the issue.

what do you mean with face-plate's ?
is it about the plugs on the back of the instrument cluster ?

until recently, the concept of assigning a name was new to me.

if anything, i assigned a song to our jetta. deep purple - child in time.

the car got a new clutch, but i was not able to solve the dying issue.

since i have to keep the rev's manually,
this, of cause, puts additional wear on the new clutch.

in the library, i've found a thread about a cold start valve,
which i would like to check somehow, but i can not find it.

could someone give me a further hint about it's location ?

edit: it's a 55hp machine

why do you call a golf a female ?
are all golf's in the uk female or just the nicest ? :-)

in germany they are probably male. all of them.
already cause of "der golf" in our language.
