the wheels now: it must be optical, but the diameter looks a bit small in respect to the gear ratio, and the rims remind me about bmw ones. have you gotten to know more about them ?
i wonder what the engine sounds like. how is it compared to the 16v or the vr6 ? how can there be 4 cylinders and 20 valves, by the way ? how much fuel does it need ? ;-)
after clicking on your pictures, fickr almost forcefeeded me additional impressions of your car, showing 20VT batches. have there been factory fitted mk2's with that motor or what was going on ?
you have prolonged the rain-cover on the top left with something shiny. what is it ? the red tubing has vertical groves. is it 3d-printed with tpu or something?
the battery and the wiper fluid are in the trunk ? how log till the windscreen get wet ? ;-) is there something special about the interior, too ?
edit: i forgot about the wheels, but you answered faster, so i'll perhaps put it below.
the relay is still clicking, but the wiper-motor stays silent. this seems to be a classic. maybe a broken cable between the trunk-flap and the cars body.
is there anybody who can give me some clues ahead of the repair (how electrically and mechanically testing it, how the disassembling goes and stuff) ?
i'm just a litte uncomfortable about it and want to be sensible enough to investigate early.
the sound is like oily metal hitting. it's boldest if i accelerate from 80 to 90 km/h. then, i can feel it in my seat. it is more silent when i don't accelerate or drive at other speeds.
anyway, i'm able to literraly uncover the heritageparts part now. it's all below the rockerpanel.
heritage gave us a little hint (fitting info). they said this pin would go in those grommets:
i saw the pin when i levered off one side of the rockerpanel (after removing one or two screws). one side goes into the grommet, the other in a clipping rail of the rocker panel.
now i have a guess about part, which i made a picture of. it might be a blind for, for whatever reason, unused fixing holes.
they seem to be a little chewed up on the top, but the cavity wax hasn't peeled of. i can not find any such bungs from below.
cause i already have a broken rockerpanel, im a bit reluctant about ripping off the whole part just for looking, but maybe there are some restoration pictures on here, which may show possible locations. i will take a look.
in the new members say hi section, there seems to be a pornspam high tide, over the last few days. and sometimes it takes some of them, until an admin comes by.
the solution could probably lie in the filters, that you have there, but no harsh measures, please ;-)
Over the last years, especially plastic 3D-Printers became affordable, and thus publicly available. Since there are many not too complicated small plastic parts on a MK2, one could have some of those out of the own 3D-Printer and even improve them and create new ones.
There are some unlinked models above. If you come across them in thingiverse, please post their link, in the discussion thread. Also new stuff of course :-)
