I still have the blue golf, the running gear and interior is in place, I have the V5 in my name and all the numbers match, i have sourced another dash and speedo which will be in the car, some bit of trim both internal & external have been removed so if anyone is interested in the remains its for sale.

Hello All - I have decided to break this car sadly, i think i have removed too much for it to be savable unless some wants a shell with engine (£1000) so please PM me or text for what you need. I'm happy to assist with courier collections and I will post smaller items, payment by BSCS, Phil 07887714470

Is the engine running? If so how much for the engine and all the running gear?

Thanks

Hi I have never seen it running but its turns and i believe it to be good, probably best to make an offer for the complete car, i have taken off some of the aux engine parts as I was intending to sell them separately. Phil 07887714470

Hi, there's no indication as to what happened with the shell of this car. Can you let me know if you still have it or not? If you do, I will text you on the number you provided above.

Finding body parts for old cars is always a bit of a hunt. You usually end up scouring eBay, scrap yards and forums. I recently had a look at the Autodoc marketplace too; it seems to have options from various manufacturers, but I’m just having a look around for now.

Nice find, and £1500 sounds fair for a car with the engine and gearbox numbers matching the V5 and the body panels all there. Missing dash, clocks and headlining are all fixable, especially if the correct dash and clocks are going with it.

Before anyone commits, I'd want to see the sills, the arches, the front wings and the scuttle/bulkhead area up close. The steering lock and tailgate lock damage suggests it's had a bit of a rough time, so check the door shuts and the boot floor for signs of a break-in having been the cause rather than neglect. Matching numbers and a V5 in his name make it a lot easier to get back on the road legally, which is half the battle with these.

@pfnsht, if Monkey's photos show it's too far gone to save, I'd ask Phil about the wings and tailgate separately. Helios Blue panels in good nick don't come up that often.
